Watanabe has been regularly documenting his hometown Namie-cho, which was designated as a restricted area following the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident following the Great East Japan Earthquake. This work is a compilation of photographs taken in the 18 months since the disaster.
The work shows the artist's attachment to the land of his birth, and his quiet gaze at what has changed and what has not changed as a result of the disaster.
