A catalogue to accompany the 1998 exhibition Tokyo Fashion Story at Parco Gallery, this book features eleven Japanese fashion photographers working in the 1990s for magazines, including cult favourite CUTiE in Tokyo. All vastly different in style, the photos are compiled as an antidote to the ‘rapid consumption’ of media in the 90s, and document the diverse fashion and street style of 1990s Japan. The book also includes a conversation between Nobuhiko Kitamura, director of Hysteric Glamour, with stylist Sonya S. Park, and interviews with the featured photographers.
