This book and its author have been put forward by the English critic Geoff Dyer in his book The Ongoing Moment.

Although relatively unknown, this artist offers in this photobook images that have been certainly influenced by the "New Topographics" movement, and remind of some famous photographers: Lewis Baltz, Robert Frank, Harry Callahan, William Eggleston or Lee Friedlander.

The photography could be perceived as too 'virtuoso", and that could be brought up against Ormerod, but  the body of work definitely forms a strong corpus, and the book definitely gives the impression, in a few pages, of having traveled across the whole United States, and across whole of the American photography.
